Sporty With a Little Sparkle!

Attending a sports game this spring/summer? Needing a cute look, but you’re hanging with the guys? Skirts, dresses, and certainly heels are not acceptable in these cases. But what happens when you want to look casual and sporty, but still want to maintain that feminine/girly feel? Add some sparkle and you are good to go!

Every girl needs a go to sporty chic outfit to fit those dates or days when the rest of your wardrobe won’t do! In this post, I am wearing a sequin tan sheer top with a zip up back. I added my camo colored military jacket to give it an edgier feel and to keep warm on this cool day! I threw on some dark crop skinny jeans and some of my favorite white Converse Chuck Taylor’s. To finish the look, I grabbed my aqua Michael Kors cross body bag, pulled my hair back into a loose ponytail, and wore simple face makeup! Simply a matte face, mascara, and my favorite NYX butter gloss (in Creme Brûlée).

I absolutely love how casual this look is, yet it is put together and fun! It is perfect for a day when you’re out at a Red Sox game or hanging with the guys! The Converse sneakers add a classic sporty touch to the look, making it clean and fun!

Try this look when you’re in a time crunch or really need to dress for a sporty occasion! You will look both effortless and glamorous! (Add red lipstick if you are really spontaneous!)

The Blue Jean Blues

Happy Saturday! Although it may be rainy in some parts of the east coast, this did not stop me from having a wonderful day! And of course, there was no slacking on the hair, makeup, and outfit! Let’s just say the rain was a good excuse to pull out the worn jeans and rock them on this very blue day!

Today, I chose to wear a pair of legging style skinny jeans in a light blue with bleach marks around the leg. The worn look was a great feeling for today’s very dreary tone. I paired the pants with a 3/4 sleeve stripe knit, tucked in just a bit in the front! I added on a mint jewel statement necklace for a girly touch and wore my black hunter rain boots for necessary rain protection! Makeup and hair had to be done full out too! I curled my hair with a one inch curling iron, wrapping each piece separately around the barrel. Don’t forget the hairspray! That is the only reason my hair stayed in place all day, even in the rain! It also helps if your hair is not freshly washed or straightened! For makeup, I did a simple matte face, with limited contouring, some highlighting, but a lot of glow! I did a plain black liquid liner with a wing, a bit of coco line on the bottom, and plenty of black mascara! Can’t forget about the lashes!

This look is perfection! It was so easy to throw a rain coat on over and go, but it will also work great on a warmer day with flats or sandals! Switching up the look, you could add a scarf or long pendent necklace, or even some bangles in replacement of the statement piece! Just don’t over accessorize!

Try this look! Light denim is the trick, especially with the warmer months hopefully on their way! Until next time!

The Moment We’ve All Been Waiting For!

Hi all! Sorry of the very long delay! Vacation has been very busy, but I am back! I have one very exciting announcement before I get into a wonderful blog post! I WILL BE ATTENDING BEAUTYCON 2014 IN NYC! I am so excited! I cannot wait to see all my fave youtube beauty gurus and more! I’ll keep you up to date on that!

This week has been very busy, but today was gorgeous (besides the wind), so I knew a cute outfit was a must! I do have to admit my outfit was partly inspired by the beautiful Nicole Guerriero! If you do not know who she is, I recommend looking her up on youtube, instagram, Facebook etc! She is fabulous and one of my idols!

To fit the windy, but sunny weather I decided to pull out my cream jeans with zip up ankles! These are  my favorite white pants to date because they virtually go with everything! I paired the jeans with a sheer floral blouse! The colors were subtle, and the style was perfect for tucking in to my skinnys. To finish off the look, I wore some tan flats, added a pop with my Michael Kors cross body bag, and curled my hair to add much needed volume! Of course, don’t forget the makeup! I did a matte nude eye with winged liner, plenty of mascara, and a nude gloss (Nyx butter gloss in Creme Brulée!)

This outfit was perfect for today, but also any other day! What I love about these pants is how versatile they are! They can be worn with a sweater or easy tank or be transformed into a work look with a blazer, blouse, and/or heels!

Definitely work the white jeans this spring and summer! They are an easy way to change up your closet and get plenty of outfits in! Thanks again for being patient! More will be up soon! Also keep up to date with me on instagram @courtneyk1! Until next time, loves!

Pop of Aqua

I was eager to get out and about today! The sun was shining, and the weather was actually nice! I have been so busy lately, but I knew today was the day to pick out an especially lovely outfit and blog like never before! My closet is spilling with spring clothes, but I knew one piece had to be worn. It wasn’t a dress or shoe… It was a little pop of aqua!

Today I chose to do a mix of styles. A little boho, with a bright vibrant accessory is perfect for a day like today! I wore an “off the shoulder” tribal print dress with thin spaghetti straps. The fabric is perfect for a hot summer day or a cool afternoon! I wore this with a wide brim hat, some chestnut riding boots, and of course this lovely pop of aqua from Michael Kors! Minimal accessories made this look simple and easy for a nice breezy day! Just hold on to your hats, ladies!

I am absolutely in love with this dress! It’s simple, but adds a 60’s feel to my style! The purse is my absolute fave! Most of the colors in the dress are very mute and neutral, but with the pop of aqua, they stand out even more! A bright cross body bag like this is a must for summer! If you are like me and tend to fill your closet with beiges and blacks, then a colorful bag is a must!

So make sure to add pops of bright hues to your wardrobe! Don’t be drab, be fab! Until next time!

By now, you should all know that I am OBSESSED with maxi dresses! I already did one post breaking them out for the season! However, this post is naming them my TOP TREND FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2014! A simple maxi with a cropped jean jacket, light scarf, and sandals are perfect for any occasion!

Yesterday, I wore this maxi that I recently got in the mail with a jean jacket and some plain, flat chestnut sandals. The back is gorgeous on the maxi, so I cannot wait to show it again, only wearing it a different way! Some similar looks shown is one by Kim Kardashian (pre baby.) She pairs this cute knit maxi with a denim jacket, some aviator sunnies, sandals, and a cute beige tote bag. Jessica Alba, on the other hand, changed up her floral maxi look with a denim crop vest, cotton scarf, and some wedges! Each look adds a fresh and easy take on the fun maxi!

Maxi’s are fairly inexpensive and really easy to wear! Make sure the length is perfect! It shouldn’t be too long or too short! It should hit right at the ankle! Add a pop of color on the lips and some long luxurious locks and a girl is good to go!

Try this favorite trend for spring and summer! You will be fresh and fabulous for any occasion! Until next time!

Fashion Excitement: Sam Edelman’s ‘Ollie’ T-Strap Pump

I was browsing in Nordstroms (because what else do I have to do on a Saturday afternoon), and I could not believe my eyes! Sitting right in front of me was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! Sam Edelman has come out with the Ollie T-strap Pump! You all probably have no idea why I am so excited about this…

Well… Over the last year, Valentino has had their Rockstud Patent T-Strap Pump on the market! They are the perfect pump for any occasion! They come in an assortment of colors, and the studs add an edgy pop to a very feminine style! However, they are $945… I do not have that money laying around anywhere, and if I did, I would have bought three pairs already! Well, Sam Edelman has their Ollie pump, which is an exact replica of the Valentino pump, but for a much cheaper price!

Obviously it cannot compare to the luxury of an item like a pair of Valentinos, but for a girl on a very strict budget it’ll do! They give you the same style for much less. The only evident difference is that they only come in two colors for now, and the studs are more subtle than the Valentino! On the plus side, they offer the style of a T-Strap pump without suffering from extreme buyers remorse after!

Of course, if you can afford the Valentino, then go and purchase them, girl! But, if you are like me and need something a little less pricey, I recommend the Sam Edelman! Either way, the style is necessary for every girls closet! The T-Strap Pump is a must no matter what the brand is!

Sunday Funday

The sun was shining, birds chirping, and the sky was glistening without a cloud to damper its mood. A beautiful Sunday in April was as it should have been. The weather is adjusting nicely and so is my wardrobe! I have been hesitant to pull out my white jeans and begin wearing them, but today was the day! I said adios to my blah jeans and hello to the fresh, crisp feeling of white and stripes!

I am wearing my favorite pair of white skinny jeans with a somewhat cropped bottom! These are absolutely perfect because they are stretchy and easy to pull off on any day! I paired this with a white and navy blue striped cotton shirt with shoulder cutouts. The white on white meshed perfectly and blended in with the bold, dark stripes. I, of course, added a pop of color with my pink bubble necklace and tagged along a jean jacket for the cool breeze! Some tan patent leather flats were a must to complete this look, and my new black sunnies kept the sun out of my eyes and added a finishing touch to everything!

I am actually in love with this white on white combo and name it one of my top five trends for this summer and spring! The white is a light and fresh touch and can be changed up easily with any bright and fun accessories! Do not underestimate the power of a white ensemble!

So why not try out all white with pops of color! It will add bright, fresh touches to your wardrobe! Until next time!

Breaking out the Maxi’s

It was a solid 50 degrees today with the sun out, bright and shining! I could not resist the urge to throw on one of my new maxi dresses! I just got a package in the mail (we all know how excited I get when I receive mail) and could not wait to try everything on! I am hopeful warmer weather is on its way, so I can throw a cute maxi on and go!

Maxi’s come in all different styles and shapes with lengths that could range from having a train to being high/low. Today, I am wearing a red patterned maxi dress with spaghetti straps that criss cross, revealing a very open back. The length is long and has a couple of slits varying on either side. This dress also comes with a chest snap to better conceal the top part of the dress, and a slip underneath that only goes to the mid thigh. The pattern is on a paisley side with hues of blue and white mixed in. I paired this with  one of my new favorite obsessions, which is my new straw, woven hat. For shoes, I wore a pair of short booties, but when it’s warmer, I recommend wearing a pair of cute flat strappy sandals, preferably a neutral color. My hair was already curled, so it flowed perfectly with the look! I am not wearing any jewelry, but this look would go great with some gold bracelets/bangles or a long chain necklace with a pendent of some sort!

I am OBSESSED with maxi dresses! They are honestly the easiest thing to put together on a hot day, or if you are in a rush! They can be dressed up or down and always look well put together! Just throw on some cute sandals, a hat, and/or jean jacket and you are ready to rock that look over and over again!

So, why not try a maxi this season? You will be surprised at how easy and glamorous they can transform your look!
