Simple Stripes With A Twist

Hi all! It’s Maddie! I have known Courtney for a long time, and over the years we have become best friends! Bonding over our love of adorable dresses, fabulous accessories, and beautiful makeup! We met dancing together and have been inseparable since. I am so excited to do a blog post for Navy and Lace!

Today, I chose a simple striped cotton dress, and dressed it up with a chunky turquoise necklace for a pop of color! As well as some bright flip-flops! They are a bright orange color that remind me of a melted popsicle! I love this dress because it is so comfortable, and I can dress it down with a jacket and converse, or dress it up with a bright necklace!  This outfit is perfect for a fun summer girls night out!

Free Spirit With My Bestie

Doing photoshoots with my friends is just a typical day in the life of me. We are always posing and searching for new scenery to have as our beautiful back drops! I was lucky enough to have my beautiful best friend Madison help me with a collaboration! This will be a fun, three part collab with her and I showing our fabulous outfits, and then a day in the life fun gallery!

Today, I chose to be a little bit of a free spirit and wear a black romper with V-neck accents both on the front and back. I paired this with a fringe black and white kimono and some simple flats! It’s simple and an easy way to feel like a boho free spirit!

I love this look for its versatility! Wear it with or without the kimono or even mix it up with a cute light jacket!

Whatever you may choose, make sure to wear it with your confidence!

Overcast Days…

Hi all! Hope your summer days have been fabulous! With these overcast days, I have been looking for outfits and styles that are chill and cute! So, what did I choose?

Blouse: Marshall’s      Shorts: Forever 21       Hat: Anthropology   (All outfit links are in previous posts!)

I chose a white “hippie” blouse with cut-out shoulders and little detailing along the arms and torso. I paired it with a pair of light-wash boyfriend shorts. They were very comfy and a perfect fit even with its baggy flair. My bracelets are from Alex and Ani, and I wore a straw wide brim hat just for fun!

I’m so in love with these flowy blouses, especially because they can be worn in any season! They are very versatile and work in any weather. Pair it with shorts or jeans and you can go anywhere!

Enjoy your summer no matter what the weather may be and dress however you feel!

A little sunday DIY

Happy Sunday! So happy to finally be doing a normal blog post again! Videos are so fun, but I love when I can sit and type up a post on a lovely day! So here is the story… I purchased these adorable bandeau bra tops the other day! Last night I sat and gazed at my closet, trying to figure out shirts and dresses I could pair them with. I gave up after a little bit, but this morning I had an epiphany! Why don’t I use my fabulous DIY skills and switch up a shirt!

So that is what I did! The shirt I am wearing is originally a long crochet top. However, it is a little big for me when worn normally. I love it, but I could never figure out the best way to wear it. Suddenly, I had the BEST idea! I threw on these adorable high-waisted pink shorts and saw that one of my bandeau’s matched perfectly. It is black with little pink flowers on it. Because I am obsessed with crochet, this shirt was a must. I put it on and decided to take the loose front and tie it into a knot! And voila! My magic worked! I transformed it into an adorable knit crop!

I have always been obsessed with making little changes like this to certain pieces in my closet! It is super easy and actually a money saver! Take old pieces and make them new again!

Enjoy your Sunday! And remember, with a little DIY style, you can transform any outfit!
