February Favorites!

Happy February! I thought I would do a little beauty segment and show my favorite products of this month! These are the products I use religiously and swear by! Enjoy!

I had to have a “What’s in my bag picture!” Looks more authentic!

1) Skin Care!

I have three products that I cannot live without this month! Skin care is really important to me and something I take very seriously! The first is the Kiss My Face Peaches and Cream body lotion. I found this in a local health food store! The scent is to die for,  and it contains all natural ingredients to moisturize and keep skin clean! It is not greasy like other lotions, which is a crucial part to any product I choose. The second is the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Scrub in Pink Grapefruit! I love the little beads in the face wash! They feel great on your skin with warm water, and it also makes your skin feel actually clean after! Finally, Ponds Makeup Remover Wipes in Original are a necessity! This is the only remover I use to get my makeup off at the end of the day! It’s important to use a product that removes all the makeup, leaving no traces behind. This does just that! They are perfect for girls with sensitive skin too!

Along with being crazy about skin care, I am also crazy about what I use on my face for makeup! I want makeup that will give me a flawless, full-coverage look, but doesn’t make me break out! Although expensive, I use Nars Sheer Matte Foundation in Deuville. This is by far the best foundation I have ever used! It matches my skin perfectly and gives me a clean, matte finish on top of my normally oily skin.  To blend and apply the foundation, I use a beauty blender. These are also the best invention ever! They are a sponge that you rinse under water and use damp, in order to achieve a smooth and natural look. To cover up blemishes, I love my Sonia Kashuk Concealer Palette. It gives four shades: a lighter shade, medium shade, green shade to help redness, and a powder. This is the best concealer and covers blemishes instantly. This product can be purchased at Target! Another concealer I use to cover up under eye darkness, is my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Darkspot Concealer Treatment. This is perfect for covering up dark circles under your eyes and highlighting the T-zone on your face! Finally, Lashes Lashes Lashes! I am obsessed with long, full lashes! Some people think you need to wear fakes to get them! That is false! I use Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in black! It lengthens and makes the lashes look fuller without having to deal with clumps!

3) Hair, Lips, Nails, Perfume

Finally, the rest! I am constantly curling and waving my hair! It is a change from wearing it straight or up in a bun! Everyone always asks me what I use to make my curls stay all day. I use Elnett Hairspray, which I’d like to think is my secret weapon! It comes scented and unscented and holds the hair all day without making it crunchy and hard! It is also the only hairspray that you can fully brush out! To cure chapped lips this month, I am an Eos addict. My best friend got me several for the holidays, and I haven’t been able to put mine down. The fruity flavors are so refreshing and they are easy enough to throw in your purse and go! The best nail polish on the planet is Essie! It has been proven to last much longer than others, and their colors are the best! Finally, the perfume of the month goes to Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture! It smells sweet and feminine, but isn’t too strong to wear the entire day!

Those are my absolute favorites of the month! Enjoy and please try some of them out!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday! More blog posts will be up this week! Sorry for the delay! I have been fighting off a nasty cold! To start off the week, I wanted to wear something that was was easy, comfy, but made me look put together! What I got was an adorable blazer and jean combination!

I am wearing a olive green cropped blazer with an open front. I paired this with a long, flowy cream blouse, that is technically “racer-back” with a scoop neck. On the bottom, I threw on a pair of dark legging jeans, adding my chestnut riding boots!

I like how the outfit is a combo of simple colors. The green makes the outfit pop, but the blazer adds a classy component. The boots give it an equestrian feel, while still keeping it simple with minimal jewelry.

Monday’s shouldn’t have to be difficult! Put on an adorable blazer, flowy blouse, and jeans, and you have a classic outfit that is school and business ready!

Easy with Plaid

On days when I’m feeling lazy, I just want to be comfortable and cute! I refuse to wear sweatpants out in public unless absolutely necessary. What’s a girl to do? Throw on a plaid shirt, booties, and a leather jacket, and you are good to go!

I am wearing a long, red and black buffalo plaid button down with pocket. I paired this oversized shirt with a pair of my “heavy duty” black leggings with zip up back. I threw on my black leather jacket and paired the look with some camel booties and a pair of sunglasses.

The look is complete and very easy. The shirt is so comfy and warm! I love how the shirt is boyfriend and oversized, yet still looks feminine. This look is perfect for a girl on the go that wants to look edgy and put together!

So, when you are looking for an outfit for a lazy day, turn to some plaid, and it will surely brighten your day!

Relieve Your Stress with Style!

In the midst of midterms, I find myself styling outfits better than regular days when I am not under the stress and pressure. Weird, right? I sure think so. However, when I think about it, it makes sense. Fashion and style is an outlet for me. In the times of major studying and stress, I find fashion as a release. I online shop more to relax, and put together more outfit combos in much shorter periods of time! Maybe I should take midterms more often… Not!

One of the outfits I magically put together in little time at all is this adorable sweater and blouse overlay. I’ve been dying to try this out for a while! I am wearing a cream, wool sweater with button shoulder detailing. I then layered a citrus green sleeveless blouse with ruffle collar and bow tie in the front. When layering, I made sure to pull the entire collar out for exposure and adjusted the bow to sit just right on the front, since it’s a crew neck sweater not a V-neck sweater. I paired this with my favorite dark, stretch jeggings and a pair of my new camel suede booties. To add a little sparkle, I wore an adorable jeweled headband and finished the entire look with a quilted, two-toned leather tote with a chain handle.

I absolutely adore this outfit! Layering is a perfect way to change up how you wear an item. Many people wouldn’t think to layer a blouse of such a prominent color and collar with such a simple, basic sweater. It’s an outfit you can wear out everyday or even to work! Just remember, as long as you feel confident, then that is all that matters!

Mini Skirt Central

Every girl needs a cute “mini” skirt. I don’t mean a skirt that completely shows “everything.” I mean an adorable and everyday skirt that can transform your closet and can be versatile. Trust me, mini skirts can be classy. As long as the length is appropriate and the pattern is to die for, then you are ready to step out and show a little leg!

I recently purchased the skirt I am wearing online. It is a white and black tweed pattern with faux leather sides and waist. I was very hesitant about it because of the leather. Usually, faux leather can look cheap and tacky. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the two materials combined and were sewn really well. It looks like a modern version of a tweed skirt. I paired it with my cranberry blouse, in order to break up the black and white. I then wore a pair of black tights and a cute pair of shoes. My shoes are a hybrid between a booty, a heel, and a lace up loafer. They are perfect because I can wear them with a skirt or jeans.

I originally bought this skirt, surprisingly, for an interview. I am so glad I did! Some people would say it’s too short, but it really is not! The important thing is to pair it with a top that is more conservative and a cute pair of flats. That way, the outfit has a completely different feel to it!

So, embrace those mini skirts! Just make sure they have a flare, peplum, or pencil type feel. Those are absolutely necessary for every girl!

Red Lips and a Little Edge…

I love experimenting with style. One moment I’ll be popping a collar on my blouse, and the next I’ll be sporting a leather skirt with studs. There really are endless possibilities. My favorite look right now would have to be the all black look. My wonderful friend Easton and I share this love of a simple, yet classic color that makes everyone look good. There’s just something about wearing gorgeous black pieces with a pop of color simply on your lips that makes any girl look glamorous, and as though they shouldn’t be messed with!

I am wearing my favorite high waisted black trousers. These are perfect for work or going out with the girls. They have an elastic waist, which can be tightened with a drawstring and have zipper pockets on the side. I paired these with my favorite Astr top. It is short sleeve with a beautiful jeweled neckline. You don’t even have to worry about jewelry with this one! It also buttons up the back, which adds a classic touch to the modern piece. I layered on my leather jacket over to keep warm and threw on some adorable leather flats. To finish it off, I put on some classy ruby red lipstick, and a pair of aviators.

This is the look to have right now!Black on black is the easiest way to achieve perfection without have to match patterns and colors. The top is especially my favorite because of the jeweled neckline. It adds a touch of glamour to the entire look without having to layer pieces of jewelry.

Try the look! You’ll be surprised at how one color can change everything!
